Fable

Three friends decided to build a fort out of old boards in the backyard.

At first, everyone had different ideas:

one wanted a tower, one wanted a treehouse, and one wanted a tunnel.

They argued so much about whose idea was better

that they never lifted a single board.

Finally, Mr. Garcia, who was fixing his fence nearby, called over:

"You’ll never build anything if you pull in different directions. Try choosing one idea and building it together."

The boys finally agreed on a simple fort.

Working together, they finished it before sunset.

They played in it all evening — and forgot about the arguing.
