Fable

All summer long, a little girl watered her garden, pulled weeds, and tied up her bean plants.

Her neighbor sat under the big tree, playing games on his tablet.

"Why work when you could be relaxing?" he said.

But when autumn came, the girl filled a basket with fresh tomatoes, carrots, and beans.

The boy watched, empty-handed.

"Next summer," he said, "maybe I'll plant a garden too."
